God is very serious about wanting us to read His Word. Last week was national Bible week, so I have been teaching my sixth graders Joshua 1.8 NLT: "Study this book of the Law continually. Meditate on it day and night so you may be sure to obey all that is written in it. Only then will you be successful." Notice the parallelism: Study/continually...meditate/day and night. We are supposed to do this constantly! I'm excited about chapel on Friday because Nate and I will be teaching this very same thing to the whole school (K-8). I will be acting out Manasseh, Amon and Josiah from 2 Kings as the dramatized recorded NIV plays on CD. Then we will use question/answer (with a Hershey Kiss incentive) to teach how the bad kings didn't follow God's word and bad things happened whereas the good king followed God's word and was blessed. Let's all remember to take God at His Word and meditate on it day and night.

Where did you get that AWESOME picture of the old lady reading the Bible? I love it! It reminds me to get a frame for that one I have from Wycliffe of the lady reading scripture in her own language. It moves my heart each time I see it. Your chapel service sounds wonderful; I can just imagine the background Reader's deep voice as he narrates the drama. Very effective. Now, off to errands--while meditating at the same time of course! M.
I knew you would like this one! I got it off google images. I hope it is not illegal! You make me smile =)
