Nate's high school music students just had a performance on Friday in his new band room. They did a great job! Mr. Becker himself even performed with the class on his trumpet using mute for "Pachabell's Canon." Lovely! I was so proud of him! The most fun for Elijah was seeing his papa play the drums. I've been really enjoying getting to know the Cebuano ladies more this year! They love Elijah--calling him "Upaw" "Calbo" or bald. See if you can spot him in the picture! We don't want that little white head to burn in the sun!
Elijah loves his papa. He wants to be just like daddy! Look at those shoes--silly boy! Precious.

Elijah loves time with mama in the rocking chair. After his morning nap I always teach him to spend time in God's Word daily. I want him to be able to say along with Timothy "From Infancy I have known the Scriptures."
P.S.!! Elijah has a new cousin! Caleb Andrew was born on October 30th in Ohio to Nate's sister, Jessica and her husband, Tim. Praise the Lord!

Dear Jessica,Nate,and Elijah
I just wanted to say that I always enjoyed it when Nate would play an instrument at our church. He is an awsome musician and can sing like an angel as well. I am so glad that God has given him the opportunity to share this with other children. I say other children because I was only a child myself when I met Nate for the first time. He helped me through alot of tring teenage times and for that I am so thankfull. Please add me to your list to receive your monthly newsletter so that we can stay in touch. Thanks again Nate for making me the person I am today. Jessica and Elijah are very lucky to have you in thier lives.
In Christ,

Hey Nate and Jessica! What precious pictures! Elijah is a blessed, blessed child to have such intentional. I pray, too, that he'll fall in love with our Lord and His written word. Jessica, you sound as if you're LOVING this time of full-time-momming. I'm so happy for you both. As a single, I get to spend a lot more time with Paraguayan young women than my friends with kids. My good friend, Renee, has 4 kids and her ministry really is in the home. One of the big issues among the young girls is that there aren't many Christian young men, so they often want to date non-believers. The other day I was trying to help my 16 year old friend, Ana, see the big picture of where a relationship might lead her. So I asked her to describe her ideal life. She said she wanted a life (husband and family) like Renee's. From that, we were able to talk about the wisdom in her choice to marry a committed Christian. These girls' desire to have a family and marriage like Renee's motivates them to exercize patience far more than my words, I'm sure! So keep at it, sister! YOUR FAMILY is a bright city high on a hill!
