Today was supposed to be our annual track & field day. It is a great event including everyone from Kindergarten to 12th grade. The moms and dads get out of work to come watch the kids race. Nate and I were even going to compete in the 3K event. Unfortunately, the meet was cancelled due to a tropical depression (what does that really mean?).
Yesterday it started to rain hard in the morning, which it usually just rains in the evening. It rained all day and all night very hard. It turned out that the "Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical & Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) monitored a tropical depression (TD) estimated at 400kms east of our island with maximum winds of 55kph near the center. It was forecast to move toward our city at 13 kms per hour." The center of the storm actually hit our city at 7pm last night.
For a week I watched a Filipino worker paint the lines to the track. All his hard work was washed away in the storm yesterday. Thankfully we were offered a ride home in the downpour, but this morning I had to roll up my pants and wade through the flooded streets to get to my class on time. Whew! I praise the Lord that the river near our house didn't flood and destroy our first level of our home! God is our Protector of the storm!

Wow! What a lot of water! Aren't you kinda glad you didn't have to run the 3K? And what about your piano; isn't it on the first floor? Perhaps you could get some muscle men to boost it up on cement blocks next time a chance of flooding comes along. Cute pictures! Luvya, me.
Good memory! I'm glad you remembered to think of our piano! We were nervous about that too, but that is why we praise the Lord we didn't flood! I think I would have liked to run the 3K because I love running! It makes me feel good.
Wow: to live with such flooding as that!
So, does it rain very often or is it just a ton when it does rain?
