On Mt. Samat

We stopped to visit Mt. Samat, the place where the Filipinos held out in WWII to delay the Japanese invasion. We climbed the steps up to the cross on the top and then took the elevator to see the view.
Here is Mr. BEcker and his guys sticking their heads out the cross window to get a view. Notice Nate took off his glasses before sticking his head out.

This is one of the beautiful views of the valley out the window. You can see the South China Sea in the distance!


Here is a depiction of the infamous "Death March"when the Japanese forced the Filipinos to walk 84 (?) kilometers in the heat for days and months without water.
