The adventure begins! We slept in the bus station in Bangkok and then took the 4:30 a.m. bus to the border. Backpacking is the way to go. We're walking to Cambodia!
On the right you see the Cambodian flag and on the left the Thai flag. Behind me you see the border "Kingdom of Cambodia!" Another dream come true--thank you Lord!
We had to get visas--even though I read about the scams and was all set with my U.S. $20 bill, they still tricked us into paying with 1000 Baht (about $30). Bummer! We're on to these scams--watch out people.
There's Nate and Chris from the U.K. joining up to pay for a taxi to Siem Reap. Nate is proud that he made the transaction using three different currencies!
